Wood
The quest for so-called novel proteins is incessant and more shared than ever before. For a great variety of reasons. Nutritional ones, ecological ones, economic ones, sustainability ones. And a few more.
That is why I attended a presentation of Arbiom at Pet Food Forum in Kansas City. The subject of the presentation: WOOD. Or more precisely wood-waste that Arbiom calls residue material; which I believe is a different way of saying by-products. But I gladly leave the views on this to the self-proclaimed experts in this subject.
Although I didn’t at all understand the wealth of data that was provided, I was positively struck by the conclusions that seem to satisfy the ecological, sustainability, nutritional and possible also the economic needs as far as brands and products are concerned.
I wouldn’t be amazed if wood is the next insect!
